The education system is broken. Lets face it. When a lot of the students are failing. Who can and should be passing. As Ken Robinson says education is like a machine line. The standard, one way ticket. Either you get it and excel or you straggle behind the crowds. "Children lay there dreams at your feet." Ken Robinson qutoes a poem with those words he also adds, "so tread lightly." But a lot of people don't. It worries me that until the day the rest of the educators realize that the system is broken, Peoples grades, child or teen, are going to get worse. Like Dan Meyers says in "Math class needs a makeover" a teen should be able to do some Algebra 2 with out trouble. The current system does not allow that. It is "push, push got to get through that text book."
I think that if they simplified that text book and taught the main points.not only will people understand it better, but they may find some fun in it. History classes are another example of "push, push got to get through that text book."
Why some people think the education is perfect. Escapes me. It is far from perfect. It is far from right. I agree with Ken Robinson in saying that we need an agricultural system. Every person is different
